Overload
the senses.

ZBEX is a sensory game studio operating from the neon underbelly of Shibuya. We build games as controlled sensory avalanches — synesthetic, maximalist, and deliberately overwhelming. Turn down the brightness. Put on headphones. Enter the current.

Synesthetic Racer

Chromadrift

A racing game where speed is felt through color pulses and bass frequencies. No speedometer — your skin reads the velocity. The faster you go, the more the world melts into pure wavelength.

PS5 / PC / VR

NEURAL_LOAD_002
Rhythm / Combat

Beatbreaker

Fighting game where attacks sync to heart-rate data. Miss a beat and your avatar's pulse stutters. Win by achieving cardiac coherence, not combos. Features biometric leaderboards.

Switch / Mobile

Whiteout Frequency

Horror game played entirely through haptics and sub-bass. No visuals — only vibration patterns and infrasound. Your body is the screen. Your nerves are the controller.

Synesthenia

An experiment in taste-gaming. Electrical stimulation on the tongue paired with visual sequences. Taste the rainbow — literally. Currently in closed neural trials.

The Machine

ZBEX emerged from a basement in Shibuya's backstreets in 2019. Fourteen of us share a single room filled with LED strips, haptic rigs, and enough sub-bass to vibrate fillings loose. We don't make games. We engineer sensory conditions.

Our philosophy: the player's nervous system is the final rendering pipeline. If the body doesn't react, the game failed. We measure success in galvanic skin response, not playtime hours.

We partner with neuroscientists, DJs, and industrial designers. Our office smells like ozone and energy drinks. The coffee machine cost more than our first three games combined.

Connected Operators

NODE-01
K

Kai Nakamura

Chief Sensory Officer

Designs experiences around biological limits. Can tell if a rumble motor is 3Hz off just by touching the controller. Sleeps four hours a night.

NODE-02
R

Rina Akagi

Haptics Engineer

Builds custom vibration APIs. Her desk has 47 different motors in labeled drawers. Claims she can "hear" when a haptic curve is wrong.

NODE-03
J

Jin Saito

Lighting / Synesthesia

Programs LED arrays that sync to brainwaves. Believes color is a flavor and games should be tasted, not just seen.
